About Facial Rejuvenation

What is Facial Rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is the insertion of fine needles into the skin to treat issues related to aging and sun exposure, without the use of a scalpel or injectables such as Botox. How does it work you may be wondering? Once the needle is inserted, the brain sees the needle as a micro injury, and signals the skin to start regenerating collagen. At the same time the lymphatic system is stimulated and begins to reduce puffiness and edema in the face.  Body points are used as well and are tailored to each individual patient’s needs. At the end of the consultation, a treatment plan is  put together to not only improve the complexion, but to improve the entire well being of the patient as a whole. One of the key things I tell my patients is this: What effects the gut effects the skin, as the skin is our body’s biggest detox organ. So typically this needs to be addressed as well during the sessions. Did you know that those laugh lines around your mouth relate to the health of the large intestine? I bet you didn’t! I’m here to educate you and help you put your best face forward.

How often should I get treatment?

For maximum benefit, the typical course of treatment is 10-12 sessions, one to two times per week. This is followed by maintenance sessions 2-3 times per year. Minimal effect is seen after the first treatment, with the most marked effects happening between treatments six and seven.

Essential Oils for what’s ailing YOU!

I've been toying with the idea of incorporating essential oils into my acupuncture practice for years. However, I found the idea daunting and a little scary to be honest. Why scary? Because I've actually had patients come into my office with second degree burns on their skin from improperly applying the oils! One patient even ended up in the hospital for two weeks because of her injuries from an oil called Heliochrysm.

The best way to love your liver

It has taken me what feels like a lifetime to understand that what I put into my mouth really and truly effects how I feel emotionally and physically. Our bodies are not equipped to withstand constant abuse and neglect, thinking that they will always be able to bounce back on their own. Most importantly, our livers are what end up suffering the most.

What’s your gut reaction?!?!

Your stomach hurts, there's pain and bloating in your abdomen after you eat anything with gluten, you feel foggy headed and you're lacking energy. Focusing at work has become a chore because of the haze that's clouding your mind. You're anxious, depressed and sleepless, but your doctor has run every test that he knows of and the results keep coming back negative.
